« The comfort level to share and discuss with the group on related topic as it pertained with Forensic Field Officer Training Programs was above expectations… If you don’t have a FTO program or it is out of date and needs a refresher, this is the training class to attend. »

« I believe The Forensic Supervision Course is a course all forensic supervisors should take. Erin and Ashley have so much knowledge on the topic and make it so easy to understand. »

Forensic Field Training Officer Course
$775/person | 40 hours
This course is for forensic supervisors and aspiring leaders at various levels of experience. Many organizations don’t prepare new supervisors for leadership positions or provide guidance on team management, leaving them to learn through trial and error. We provide interactive lectures and hands-on activities to equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to manage the expectations of a forensic unit effectively. We focus on developing your leadership style, performance management, conflict resolution, and creating and leading high-performance teams.

Yes! This course is designed for any forensic professional that is already leading or desires to lead in any capacity. Being a leader does not always mean that you also have the title of supervisor. This course is designed to help you develop your personal leadership style, learn how to communicate more effectively with your team members, and learn how to build the vital components of a forensic unit like SOPs and training programs. Learning these skills will benefit your agency regardless of whether you are the supervisor or not.
We developed these courses with the intention of providing any person responsible for training forensic professionals with the skills they need to become excellent trainers.
If you are civilian, there may be no state regulations in regard to which FTO course you must attend to receive pay incentive. It may be up to your agency to choose what courses they will accept for pay incentive. We are happy to answer any questions your agency may have and provide our course curriculum if it will assist you in receiving pay incentive as a result of attending our FTO course.
If you are sworn, FTO training may be mandated by your state, and you may be required to attend the state mandated FTO course for your pay incentive.
If you train forensic professionals and are responsible for training complex processes and scientific principles to other people, this class is for you! State mandated FTO courses are designed specifically for Law Enforcement Officers to prepare them to train other LEOs in LEO related topics, and although some of the information is useful to forensic professionals, much of it does not apply to us as forensic trainers and does not prepare us to teach forensic information to forensic practitioners.
Whether or not your agency requires you to take the state mandated FTO course for LEO’s, taking this course by itself or in addition to other FTO trainings will take your ability to train a step further. The more capable you are of developing and delivering excellent training to your trainees, the better your unit will function! Well trained employees have more positive impact on their agencies and more positive impact the communities they serve!
All content from both the Forensic Field Training Officer and Forensic Supervision courses were submitted to the IAI for consideration. Only partial credit was awarded from a few (not all) of the boards for certification and re-certification.
To our understanding, the IAI will only honor curriculum that is directly related to forensic science. Topics, such as communication and critical conversations, are not directly related, and therefore cannot be used toward their certifications.
