How to Build Confidence Purging Evidence

The dreaded evidence purge! Where every small detail feels like it could be a big piece to a puzzle. What motivates the stress from this day? The lack of confidence. That fear is what we will be diving into and squashing it! And look, this skill is not going to come quickly to everyone. If you need additional help purging evidence, check out our Evidence Purge Party Webinar. By implementing these tips, you can ensure you’re on track to purge any unwanted evidence effectively and efficiently. Let’s get started!

Identify the Evidence:

The first step in purging evidence is to identify what is in question. Duh. But listen, that’s the first step. You’ve got to review what you’re actually looking to get rid of. This could include a drawer, a shelf, or a whole lock-up room.

Perform a Content Audit:

Conducting a thorough audit ensures all evidence is accounted for. Take inventory of all the, well… inventory, and categorize it based on its relevance and appropriateness. Get some things sorted! This will help you prioritize the content removal process.

Secure Access:

To begin purging evidence, you need to limit access to the inventory. Ensure your team’s success by limiting who can access the party. The last thing you want is someone messing up your sorted piles. Like adding new evidence to the purging event. This is why we recommend the evidence purge party.

Removal:

It’s time. Start removing the identified evidence. Be cautious and double-check you are following all protocols. Try even giving your team specific jobs so only John is handling firearms and Sally is the only one handling biohazards (sorry Sally).

Update References:

After purging the evidence, updating any relevant reports and references that may still exist is essential. Replace them with appropriate and updated content to maintain a seamless evidence-less transition.

Verify Removal:

Once you have completed the evidence-purging process, thoroughly review everything to ensure all unwanted material has been removed within protocol. Building confidence in your evidence-purging efforts requires ongoing monitoring. Stay vigilant to maintain a stress-free purge.

Wrap-Up

By following these steps, you can effectively build confidence while purging evidence! Remember, it is essential to handle this process diligently and responsibly. Maintaining transparency and privacy should always be a top priority. And look, this is just a gloss-over.

These are super generic tips to point you in the right direction. We give a lot more Forensic Focused Advice in our Webinar and trainings.

PSSTTT… It’s Social Media Free!

What makes the Gap Science Family online community truly special is that we understand the stigma social media platforms create throughout your forensic career. Many prefer to stay off platforms like Facebook or Instagram altogether, which is why we’ve created a dedicated space where you can feel safe to interact and network with like-minded individuals, without the hassle of social media.

How does it work? It’s free to join, but we have opted to make it a private space where all members must be approved by our admin so we can do our best to keep out the robots and spam.

Most of the spaces within the community are free to access, including forums where you can swap files, post job openings, advertise your forensic merch, announce upcoming training, and even share your wins! In the future, you may also see private spaces designated for students in our paid courses.
